The V-Brake was invented by Patrick McDowell, a long time skater and surfer. When he would skate down the trail to surf Trestles, with his surf board and wet suit in one arm and a back pack loaded, he would have to drag his foot until it got too hot. Sometimes it would almost pull his foot off the skate board. He would see some guys go by dragging one foot off the board and one on the board. Some guys would just go flying by too fast and out of control. So after several attempts and lots of testing to make the V-Brake, it’s ready. This will change the way you can skate.
WARNING: Skate boarding is dangerous and could result in serious injuries and in some cases could result in death. Always wear your helmet, knee pads, elbow pads wrist guards and good skate shoes when using skate safe products.
Do not touch the pad that makes contact with the wheel after use. It is hot and could burn your skin.
All skate safe products need to be mounted so they do not obstruct your footing in any way.
The V-Brake will not work when wet.
The V-Brake has only been tested at 25 miles per hour. Any faster than this is unknown territory and my do damage to your wheel?
The V-Brake is not and should never be your only means of stopping.
